There is always a story to tell when you are wearing local designs. And the best source for uncovering a literary gem is Portobello West.
With over 50 vendors at the market’s spring launch on March 28 and 29, the stories to tell are endless. You could be in your kitchen hosting a dinner party when some notices your grizzly bear tea towels or journaling with a latte when a stranger inquiries about your handmade notebook. At the office your co-worker is enamoured with your hammered and textured cuff and the moms on the playground can’t help but ask after your reflective polka dot umbrella. The conversation has started with your community about the beauty that is being created right here in British Columbia.
“Our vendors all design their product locally. But local doesn’t always mean Vancouver. We have vendors that come from Bowen Island, Steveston and Surrey,” says Shalu Duggal, co-market manager.
New and returning vendors are excited to share their stories with consumers at Portobello West on Saturday March 28 and Sunday March 29 from 11am-5pm at the Creekside Community Centre. Admission is only $2.
