Chloe Angus has been designing for 10 years. When she first started out she knew it was important to reach the customer so she signed up for Portobello West. “It was the perfect launching pad for a new designer,” she says. “It is also a great platform to launch designers into the retailer tradeshow market.”
Back then she would fill her Portobello West booth at the Rocky Mountaineer Station with button wraps. Today these same button wraps are her signature piece that are sold across the country and on the BC Ferries. Type button wrap into YouTube and you’ll find a video showing over a dozen ways to wear it. And if you google Leo Awards you’ll find two beautiful ladies wearing gowns by the designer on the home page of the BC film and television awards site.
Recently Chloe closed her retail space in Dunbar to make way for an impressive studio/shop at 45 East 6th ave. The new space is an oversized warehouse with office, design studio, retail space, and archive all in one. It is a reflection of Chloe’s success and aesthetic, and worth a visit.
