You bought linens and a cheese making kit at the Home and Garden Show but the jewellery you didn’t take home is still on your mind. There is only one thing to do, find a store that supports Portobello West vendors. One such place is 32 Books and Gallery in North Vancouver.
Alongside a fresh daily supply of books, you’ll find games, greeting cards, art, and jewellery. It’s an interesting mix of gifts and novels that has the Edgemont community shopping local. Plus Home and Garden vendors Irit Sorokin and Reclaimed Print Co. both sell at the shop, giving it extra appeal. Add in drop-in book clubs and author events and you have a shop that is a “little piece of literary paradise that prides itself on providing fabulous customer service,” says proprietor Deb McVittie.
So browse the books, grab a seat in the comfy arm chair, and come home with a bag full of indulgence, including statement necklaces and Bright Lion art pieces.
The next Portobello West market happens Saturday March 28 and Sunday March 29 from 11am-5pm at the Creekside Community Centre. Admission is $2 to shop over 50 local artisans and vendors.
