Jewellery and Valentine’s Day go hand in hand. Much like Jenny Yen and Tabitha Savoie, co-owners of Two of Hearts boutique. The friends and business partners met in 2004 and by 2008 they were launching an eco-conscious clothing collection together. The Two of Hearts clothing brand was followed by a Main Street store that opened in 2009 and booths at Portobello West. “The market was good exposure for our store and it also gave us a chance to test our clothes that are all locally made in Vancouver,” says Jenny.
When they opened their second store in 2013 in Kitsilano, working the fashion and art market took up too much time so instead they became major supporters of Portobello West vendors. Jewellers such as Irit Sorokin Designs, Meiku, Caroline Calvert and Juliet925 all work with the store that is dedicated to supporting local and Canadian made products. As well as stocking Valentine’s perfect jewellery, the stores also carry house brand Cici Clothing plus some international clothing brands, belts, hats, gloves and other accessories.
With the next Portobello West happening after Valentine’s Day (February 18-22 at the BC Home and Garden Show ); a visit to Two of Hearts (3728 Main St and 1986 West 4th ave) is in order.
